What is ISO 27001?

International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is an independent, non-governmental international organization that develops and publishes international standards to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of products, services, and systems.  

A part of the ISO 27000 family of standards, ISO 27001 is the world’s best-recognized standard for information security. ISO 27001 requires a company to have an information security management system, which means having a documented process for managing sensitive company information, HR processes, and IT systems.
